Dr. Matt Summers has served as the Superintendent of Schools in Green Forest, AR, for the past 12 years. He is retiring from this role to join Hurley as the Superintendent of Schools, starting on July 1. Matt and his wife Beth have been married for 34 years and are both graduates of Southwest Baptist University. Matt completed his graduate studies, including a Masters, Specialist, and Doctorate, at Lindenwood University. They have two adult sons who work as firemen, and they adore their granddaughter who holds a special place in their hearts. Outside of school, Matt enjoys fishing and spending time on the water. Expressing his excitement, Dr. Summers stated, "I am thrilled about this opportunity. Dr. Pope and the Hurley board members have been incredibly kind and welcoming. I eagerly anticipate meeting the staff, students, and community members very soon."
Join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Matt Summers as he joins the Hurley community. Dr. Summers brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role as Superintendent of Schools, and we are excited to have him on board.

High Schoolers attended Build My Future at OEF today to visit multiple trade professionals. They participated and spoke with representatives from the construction, welding, carpentry, plumbing, concrete/asphalt, heavy machinery, and electricity fields as well as many more. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to recognize the need for trades workers and offer our seniors potential summer and future jobs. We had a blast exploring these areas and look forward to future opportunities!

HELPING HANDS OF STONE SOUP has shared the following information:
Subject: HUMAN TRAFFICKING TRAINING
I wanted to share this vital information regarding the training with Dan Nash, who is with the Human Trafficking Training Center, a Nationwide training organization. This is a rare training event for Southwest Missouri as they target major cities across America. They also have training for first responders on Thursday, March 28th. Please share this with as many people as you can in your community to help stop human trafficking. Childcare is available for tonight's training at Monett Nazarene Church at 6 pm.
If you cannot attend this event, we would like to invite you to our event on April 11th at Crane High School from 6 to 8 p.m.
Please share this with as many people in our community as possible!
Thank you,
Margie Williams
Treasurer
Helping Hands of Stone Soup

The bus will leave for Build My Future tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM and return at 3:30 PM. All participants must wear closed toe shoes. Pants are highly recommended for participation at many trade booths. Lunch and a T-shirt will be provided to all participants.
