High School Announcements  (Grades 9-12)

Principal Note for High Schoolers: We’ve had another great week full of learning, growth, and exciting activities here at school. Our students continue to impress us with their curiosity, creativity, and community spirit. Be sure to check out the upcoming events and reminders —there’s a lot happening as we head into the final stretch of the year!

Counselor Note for High Schoolers: Everyone should have had their ICAPs finished and Seniors I will be visiting with you as the school year winds down. If you are interested in the National Honor Society, those forms went out on Tuesday and should be in on Friday April 11.  If anyone still wants to be a part of NHS, please just shoot me an email or find me on Monday.

Club Announcements: 

FFA

  • Now is the time to fill out chapter award applications for our chapter banquet. Award applications are due not later than April 18th, see Ms. Hance for more information.

  • 2025-26 FFA Officer Applications are now available, if interested see Ms. Hance on how to apply, these are due April 22nd. Your leadership page in your record book needs to be updated before your interview. 

  • End of Year Trip on May 10th, this is for the top 15 students on the points chart, see Ms. Hance to see if you qualify for this trip. 

  • There are a couple field trip opportunities for members to earn points for a chance to earn a spot for the End of Year Trip. 

    • Saddle Club Clean-Up April 12 at 9:45am

    • Build My Future April 16 

    • Jr PBRA Concessions at the Saddle Club April 26 

    • Chapter Banquet May 3 at 4 pm 

Jr. High Announcements (Grades 7th & 8th)

Counselor Note for Jr. High: Remember that 8th Grade has Science MAP Bootcamp and assessment this week.  Make sure you are getting to bed on time and eating a full breakfast. Be sure to get to school on time!

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th grade will continue MAP review and conclude their unit on argumentative writing.

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will continue with the novel study on Divergent by Veronica Roth. As students read, they will engage with chapter comprehension questions, explore unfamiliar vocabulary, and complete assessments at the end of each chapter to reinforce their understanding.

7th grade Math (Conlee): We will continue working with percentages. Talk your students about what strategies you use to calculate tax, tip and discounts. 

7th grade Science (Hampton):  Students will continue our Biomes of the World.  We will also be working on some new projects in the world of science.  Thank you!!!

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students will continue working on the unit covering Australia.

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th graders will continue working on MAP review and continuing their Value of Work Unit.

8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will continue with the novel study on Divergent by Veronica Roth. 8th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be MAP testing in Science. When they return to math class students will be reviewing for the MAP test in mathematics. 

8th grade Science (Hampton):  Monday is our big MAP Review for Science.  We will be testing in the area of Science for 8th graders all week.  Please remind them to get rest, eat well, and do the very best they can!!!  Thank you so much.

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students will continue to learn about the United States Constitution.
