High School Announcements  (Grades 9-12)

Principal Note for High Schoolers: As we move through another great week, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. Our students are working hard, and it's a joy to see their growth both in and out of the classroom. Please encourage your child to stay engaged, ask questions, and take advantage of the resources available to them. We’re proud of all they’re accomplishing—and we couldn’t do it without you.

FFA

  • Now is the time to fill out chapter award applications for our chapter banquet. Award applications are due not later than April 18th, see Ms. Hance for more information.

  • 2025-26 FFA Officer Applications are now available, if interested see Ms. Hance on how to apply, these are due April 22nd.

  • End of Year Trip on May 10th, this is for the top 15 students on the points chart, see Ms. Hance to see if you qualify for this trip. 



Jr. High Announcements (Grades 7th & 8th)

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th grade will continue to work on argumentative essays and prep for the MAP test.

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, we are starting a new novel study on Divergent by Veronica Roth. As students read, they will engage with chapter comprehension questions, explore unfamiliar vocabulary, and complete assessments at the end of each chapter to reinforce their understanding.

7th grade Math (Conlee): Students will analyze different strategies for solving a percent problem and formally use proportions to find solutions to percent problems. They will use their understanding of the relationships among the part, whole, and percent and choose which equations to use to most efficiently solve percent problems.

7th grade Science (Hampton):  Students will be continuing on the Biomes of our world.  We will learn how they differ in climate, weather, and animal/plant life.

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students are learning about Australia and the history, culture, and geography of this continent. 

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th grade will be concluding their argumentative paper unit and beginning their unit on the Value of Work. We will also be intermittently reviewing for the MAP.

8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, we are starting a new novel study on Divergent by Veronica Roth. As students read, they will engage with chapter comprehension questions, explore unfamiliar vocabulary, and complete assessments at the end of each chapter to reinforce their understanding.

8th grade Math (Conlee): Students will use scatter plots to display bivariate numerical data. They will describe any pattern of association between the variables in terms of shape, direction, and strength. 

8th grade Science (Hampton): Students will be finishing our unit on Energy forms in the world; and, we will continue reviewing for our 8th Science MAP testing.  MAP testing is the week of April 14-17 in the area of Science.

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Eighth grade is learning about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for the United States.
