High School Announcements (Grades 9-12)
Principal Note for High Schoolers: As we move forward, please keep an eye on upcoming events, important academic deadlines, and extracurricular activities. Your involvement and support make a difference in our school community. Let’s continue working together for a successful and rewarding experience for all. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Counselor Note for High Schoolers: ACT Workkeys will take place Tuesday, April 1, from 8:45-10:45 AM in the Library. Students taking the Workkeys assessment need to have their chromebooks charged and a charger for school that day.
Club Announcements:
FFA
Hurley FFA submitted a Chapter Scrapbook to compete at the Area level. Members worked hard on this project which received 3rd Place for Area 12.
Hurley FFA has also received the 2025 Superior Chapter Award and recognition as 100% Membership Chapter for the 2024-25 year!
Contest Schedule
SW District CDE April 3rd Dairy Foods & Soils only, we are leaving at 7:30am.
Now is the time to fill out chapter award applications for our chapter banquet. Award applications are due no later than April 18th, see Ms. Hance for more information.
2025-26 FFA Officer Applications are now available, if interested see Ms. Hance on how to apply, these are due April 22nd.

Jr. High Announcements (Grades 7th & 8th)

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects:
7th grade ELA (Knight): Beginning next week, 7th grade will alternate between continuing to work on our argumentative essays and working on MAP review.
7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will be learning how to determine central ideas and details, analyze chronological order, and analyze author’s writings on the same topic.
7th grade Math (Conlee): Seventh graders will continue working surface area and volume of 3D shapes. Tutoring with Mrs. Conlee is after school on Tuesdays & Wednesdays until 4:45pm or by appointment.
7th grade Science (Hampton): Students will begin learning about the Biomes of our ecological world along with their characteristics of climate and animal/plant life.
7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students will be learning about the United States Constitution.
8th grade ELA (Knight): Beginning next week, 8th grade will alternate between continuing to work on our argumentative essays and working on MAP review.
8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will be learning to make inferences and determine the theme of a poem.
8th grade Math (Conlee): Eighth graders will be exploring linear and nonlinear situations to describe functions and predict unknown values in relationships. Students formalize that a function relates inputs and outputs in such a way that each input is assigned one and only one output. Tutoring with Mrs. Conlee is after school on Tuesdays & Wednesdays until 4:45pm or by appointment.
8th grade Science (Hampton): Students will be learning about energy forms/types including potential and kinetic energy in the world of science. We will also start incorporating our MAP review.. Our MAP review bootcamp is on April 14th followed with testing later that week!
8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): The 8th grade took a pretest covering the United States Constitution. Students will go over the pretest and learn about the Constitution.
