High School Announcements  (Grades 9-12)

Principal Note for High Schoolers: We’re heading into another great week! With the mid-semester on us, it is important to stay focused and finish strong. Keep an eye on upcoming deadlines, tests, and events. Remember to check the school website and teacher updates for the latest information.

Counselor Note for High Schoolers: ASVAB testing will take place Tuesday, March 4,  during 2nd and 3rd hour.  If any sophomores or juniors would like to go to the Vo-Tech Field Trip on Wednesday, please make sure you have your permission slip turned in by the end of the day Tuesday.

The Junior class will be hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday March 9th in the school cafeteria from 7am - 10am. Please see our facebook page for more details.

  • FFA and BBQ Team Bingo Night March 7th, 5:30-8:30 Multipurpose Gym

    • Dinner will be served 5:30-6:30, bingo will start at 6.

    • Members bring donations to Ms. Hance before Friday.

    • Stoutland CDE March 7th, Dairy Foods team only, we are leaving at 7am

    • Hillcrest CDE March 15th, Dairy Foods team only, we are leaving at 8am

    • Hollister CDE March 17th, Dairy Foods team only, we are leaving at 8am

Jr. High Announcements (Grades 7th & 8th)

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th grade will continue working on our argumentative essay unit, focusing next week on research and notetaking skills. 

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): Next week, seventh-grade students will learn to trace and evaluate an argument while analyzing “Remarks at the Dedication of the Aerospace Medical Health Center.”

7th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be working with areas of circles and composite areas. They will be tested over circles and composite figures before spring break. 

7th grade Science (Hampton):  Students will be finishing our unit on ecological relationships in nature; and, we will be testing on our unit late in the week.

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students started the unit on Eurasia learning the history, culture, geography, and the challenges of Eurasia.

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th grade will be continuing working on their argumentative research papers, concluding our time working on research and beginning planning and drafting.

8th grade Reading (Lumpkin):  Next week, eighth-grade students will learn to identify and analyze a compare-and-contrast organizational pattern while reading, “The Funeral of Abraham Lincoln and the Manhunt for Jefferson Davis.”

8th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be working with systems of equations. They will have a quiz over graphing systems of equations next week.

8th grade Science (Hampton):  We will be reviewing our unit on motion (displacement, velocity, and acceleration) with a test towards the end of our week.  

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Eurasia is the unit that students started this week learning about the culture, geography, history, and challenges for today.
