Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th grade will be beginning our unit on Argumentative Essay Writing.

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will take their Monthly Evaluate test and begin preparing for the MAP assessment. Our focus will include analyzing themes, using context clues to determine word meanings, and closely examining texts to strengthen comprehension skills.

7th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be working on writing and solving inequalities. This will be a quick unit. We will be having a quiz by the end of the week. 

7th grade Science (Hampton):  We are continuing our studies of Ecology and the area of Nature within our biosphere.

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): 7th grade will continue to work on history, culture, and geography of Europe.

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th grade will be beginning our unit on Argumentative Essay Writing.

8th grade Math (Conlee): The linear equations test was postponed due to the need for intense review. Students will be testing on Wednesday. They have their study guide completed and can use it as a study resource. 

8th grade Science (Hampton):  Students are moving more into speed, acceleration, and the laws of motion thanks to Sir Isaac Newton.

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students are learning about Europe, and its history, culture, and geography.
