High School Announcements (Grades 9-12)
Principal Note for High Schoolers: As we approach Thanksgiving break, we encourage everyone to enjoy this time with family and friends. When we return, the semester will move quickly, with only a few weeks left until finals. It's a great opportunity for students to focus on their studies and finish strong. Please remind your child to stay organized and use their time effectively during this important stretch. Wishing you all a restful and joyful holiday!
Counselor Note for High Schoolers: Tigers Serve Day is coming this Tuesday November 26th. By this point in time, all 9-12 students have chosen a serve site. Please make sure you turn in your permission slips by Monday at the latest and also on Tuesday dress for the serve site your child is working at.
Club Announcements:
FFA
Butter Braid orders will be delivered to the school on December 11th, Ms. Hance will be available after school until 5 for pick up. Reminder, these need to be kept frozen until ready to bake them.
State Officer Visit is on December 13th, this will take place during 7th Hour, this visit is only for Ag 1 and chapter officers.
SW District Greenhand Conference is on January 8th, this is for Ag 1 students only. Official Dress is required to attend this event. See Ms. Hance for a permission slip.
FFA members, be thinking about which contest you would like to compete in this year, contest season is just around the corner. See Ms. Hance for more information on contests.
Junior High Announcements (Grades 7-8)
Principal Note for Jr. High: As we approach Thanksgiving break, we encourage everyone to enjoy this time with family and friends. Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects:
7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th grade will be drafting and peer reviewing their informative essays
7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, seventh graders will be working through a Thanksgiving Escape challenge. Throughout the activity, students work collaboratively with partners or in groups to solve ELA related challenges and find clues in order to help a turkey escape before Thanksgiving!
7th grade Math (Conlee): Students will continue their work with algebraic expressions and move into solving equations.
7th grade Science (Hampton): We are wrapping up our DNA and Chromosome unit which will lead us into human genetics. I believe genetics will be fun for the students; and, remind students about the importance of final studying in our semester. Thank you!!!!
7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students finishing South America and will start Africa after the break.
8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th grade will be peer reviewing and revising their informative essays
8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, eighth graders will be working through a Thanksgiving Escape challenge. Throughout the activity, students work collaboratively with partners or in groups to solve ELA related challenges and find clues in order to help a turkey escape before Thanksgiving!
8th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be working with angles and parallel lines cut by a transversal.
8th grade Science (Hampton): We are starting into our chemical equations and learning about the process of balancing chemical equations. Please remind students of the importance of studying for Finals at the end of our first semester. Thank you!!!!
8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): We will finish South America and begin Africa after the Thanksgiving break.
