HS Announcements

Principal Note for High Schoolers: Be sure to sign up for parent/teacher conferences! Email the teacher for a time to meet or call Kierstin in the front office to schedule a time. 

Teacher announcements for High School courses:

Plant Science (Hance): Students make sure you are collecting plants for your project due in November. Get them collected and brought in before the weather changes. 

Mr.  Hampton: Please don’t forget to sign up for parent teacher conferences.  Thank you!!!!!!!

Algebra 1, 2 and Geometry (Moeller): Evaluate testing next week.  


Jr. High Announcements (Grades 7th & 8th)

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th Grade will be working on our Risk and Exploration Summative Assessment; an argumentative paper over the worth and risk of space and/or ocean exploration. 

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): Next week, students will start a Storm Scientist Journal Project, where they will take on the role of storm chasers. They’ll investigate the formation and impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. After completing their research, students will compile their findings into a Google Slides presentation to share with the class.

7th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be working with rational numbers. By the end of the week they should be able to add and subtract integers without the use of a calculator. 

7th grade Science (Hampton):  Students are starting into cellular processes.  We will learn about transportation and energy mechanisms in cells.

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students are learning about Mexico and Central America. They are learning about culture, development, and geographical location.

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th Grade will be working on our Approaching Adulthood Summative Assessment; a multimedia campaign answering the question, “When does someone become an adult?”

8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): Next week, students will start a Storm Scientist Journal Project, where they will take on the role of storm chasers. They’ll investigate the formation and impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. After completing their research, students will compile their findings into a Google Slides presentation to share with the class.

8th grade Math (Conlee): Students will be digging into our first Geometry unit of the year. They will be working with geometric transformations on a coordinate plane. 

8th grade Science (Hampton):  We are now moving from our element/periodic table into compounds and chemical reactions using compounds.

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): The 8th graders are learning about the culture, development, and geographical location of Mexico and Central America.
